Rock Scaling

Rock scaling on steep rock slope using rope access Rock scaling is usually the first approach to any slope work and it may be all that is needed to make a slope safe. Highly trained rock remediation technicians should be used; especially when working near highways or railways.

  • The rock slope should always be scaled from the top down.
  • Working off of ropes is the safest and most efficient way of working on a rock slope.
  • Ropes enable the rock remediation technician to move freely around the slope; assuring that he is always in a safe position.
